The Venice Collection presents a unique photographic portrait of Venice as it existed from the 1920s to the 1950s. Captured by Isolde Voigt (1897–1988) and her son Arndt Voigt (1924–1988), these photographs reveal a city shaped by everyday life in an environment unlike any other—defined by its canals, the surrounding lagoon, and the ever-changing rhythms of the acqua alta.
 

Mother and son shared a lifelong passion for photography, documenting Venice with remarkable sensitivity and an instinctive sense of composition. Their images portray fishermen, merchants, gondoliers and quiet canals, preserving fleeting moments of a city whose rhythms have largely disappeared.
 

The photographs remained unpublished for decades within the family's private archive. Today, they stand as both artistic works and valuable historical documents, offering an intimate and authentic perspective on Venice in the early twentieth century.
 

The Venice Collection is a tribute to two generations of photographers whose shared fascination with light, architecture and everyday life created a timeless visual record of one of the world's most extraordinary cities.
